The Philosophy
With an exhaustive range of brands to choose from today, what is Uvaacha’s purpose in this saturated space?
The idea behind Uvaacha is to build a community that celebrates mindful living. Through our brand philosophy, we hope to offer clothing that is well made and makes you feel good.
In every step, our focus remains on thoughtful design and quality. Since we wanted our clothes to be accessible, we offer a range of sizes and made-to-order to fit every body type. Instead of mass producing, we produce a few pieces per style and we’re building a model to help make only as much as we require, when we require it.
We don’t want clothes ending up in landfills, so we encourage you to buy less, buy better.
Who Makes our Clothes?
Quality is important to us and in our production process. We use earth-friendly fabrics, produced in good work environments resulting in a quality finish that makes the clothes last when cared for rightly. Seams, drapes, sizes, zips, buttons and after care, are all thought through during design.
The craft unit employs women artisans from the informal-sector and slums, some rescued from the horror that is human trafficking and gives them an opportunity to develop skills.
The unit helps them with financial education, facilitates opening bank accounts for them, which in turn helps them live proudly and better the quality of their & their families lives.
We chose to produce our clothes this way with benefits on the artisan. With fair wages and ensuring artisan welfare, we don’t compromise the product, and the producer. We believe with better practice, the clothes we make will be a product of love and craft.
Our Fabrics
At the core of Uvaacha is fabric. We partnered with Indian artisan units to bring you handwoven, organic and upcycled fabrics that are produced ethically. All our fabrics are conscious choices.
Handwoven fabrics are made using a handloom, which does not require electricity or produce pollution. The choice of handmade over machine makes it a sustainable practice with reduced waste and keeps the artisan skill alive.
All fabrics start at the crop. However, today crops are grown with excessive use of toxic pesticides for better yield. We choose to use natural fabrics instead as they are grown without the use of chemical pesticides and are easier on the planet, and your skin.
Recycled fabrics are made from pulp material that is reprocessed into new fibres and then spun into new yarns and fabrics.
We also work with a textile production house that offers handwoven Global Recycle Standard (GRS) fabrics from recycled yarns. They upcycle waste fabrics into a high end product using a culturally ingrained and zero emission technique.

Our Packaging
As a brand focusing on sustainable practices, we looked for biodegradable alternatives to plastic packaging.
The clothes are packed in a cloth pouch which can be reused for storage and travel.
Our packaging and courier bags are made from eco-friendly materials.
The order mailers are made in bioplastics that are 100% biodegradable.
The clothing tags are crafted from seed paper that can be grown when potted.
We also choose to incorporate product care instructions on our website as we wanted to print consciously. We continue to explore efficient ways to contribute to a circular economy through practices and the use of data and technology, and your feedback.
